My Journey in 30 Seconds
A brief glimpse into the choices, movement, faith, and determination that continue to shape my wellness journey—one intentional step at a time.
Empowering you to live with purpose, wellness, and abundance—through honest stories, supportive habits, faith, and one intentional step at a time.

Hi, I’m Gina Marie—a wife, mother, and woman of faith. My family is at the heart of why I chose to take better care of my health.
Living with Type 2 diabetes since 2005 taught me that wellness is not about perfection. It is about choosing supportive habits, listening to my body, and trusting God through every season.
I created Purposefully You by GMV to share what I’m learning and encourage others to take small, consistent steps toward a healthier and more purposeful life—one day at a time.
With faith and purpose, Gina Marie
A personal story of setbacks, prayer, supportive routines, and the choice to keep showing up.
A brief glimpse into the choices, movement, faith, and determination that continue to shape my wellness journey—one intentional step at a time.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2005 and have now been living with it for more than 20 years. The journey has not always been easy, but every season has taught me something valuable.
Over the years, I learned that managing diabetes involves more than taking medication. It also means understanding my body, monitoring my blood sugar, following the guidance of my healthcare provider, and making healthier choices each day.
When my A1C reached 8.4%, I realized that I did not want to wait for complications before making changes. I wanted to feel healthier, have more energy, and be present with my family for many more years.
My turning point came when I began viewing my health as a lifelong commitment—not a temporary diet. I became more intentional about my food choices, hydration, daily movement, sleep, and following my healthcare provider’s recommendations.
Little by little, I began to feel better. My A1C decreased from 8.4% to 6.9%, showing me that small and consistent habits can make a meaningful difference.
Today, I choose consistency instead of perfection. I am still learning, adjusting, and taking my journey one day at a time. There are difficult days, but I remind myself that every supportive choice matters.
Living with Type 2 diabetes has taught me that better health is built through small, consistent choices. My journey has included setbacks, learning, prayer, supportive routines, and the decision to keep showing up—one day at a time.

These are the personal routines I return to—not rules, and not a prescription for anyone else.

I begin my day with water before having coffee. This simple habit helps me start my morning feeling refreshed, intentional, and ready for the day.

I keep breakfast simple and begin with a good source of protein, paired with nourishing foods. This helps me feel satisfied and supports the healthy routine I’m building.

I make movement part of my everyday routine through walking, stretching, and staying active—especially after meals. I focus on moving consistently in ways that feel realistic and enjoyable.

Supplements are one supportive part of my personal wellness routine, alongside nourishing food, hydration, movement, rest, and medical care. I use products that fit my individual needs and follow the directions of my healthcare provider.
This reflects my personal experience and is not medical advice. Supplements are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. Individual needs and results may vary.

Prayer, Scripture, reflection, and gratitude help me slow down and reconnect with what matters most. My faith gives me strength, peace, and purpose throughout my wellness journey.

I learned that rest is an essential part of wellness. Creating a calmer evening routine and going to bed earlier helps me feel more refreshed, focused, and prepared for the next day.
From deciding to begin, to building routines, finding community, and growing into leadership.

This photo represents the beginning of a new chapter. I wanted better energy, healthier habits, and a lifestyle I could maintain—not another temporary solution. I did not have everything figured out, but I was ready to begin.

I began with simple, intentional changes—hydrating before coffee, choosing a protein-focused breakfast, moving after meals, and becoming more mindful of my daily routines. Small choices became habits, and those habits gradually changed how I felt.

I learned that movement does not have to be complicated or extreme. Walking, stretching, exercising at home, and moving after meals became realistic ways for me to stay active. My goal is consistency—not perfection.

My faith has carried me through difficult and uncertain moments. Prayer, Scripture, reflection, and gratitude remind me that I am not walking alone. I continue to trust God while doing my part—one faithful step at a time.

My progress is about more than losing weight. I gained better habits, greater confidence, renewed energy, improved blood sugar management, and hope. Every small victory reminds me how far I have come.

My family is at the heart of why I keep choosing better health. I want the energy to be present, create memories, and encourage the people I love to care for themselves too.

Wellness became more meaningful when I realized I did not have to walk the journey alone. Being part of a supportive community gave me encouragement, accountability, and a place to keep learning and growing.

As I continued learning, I also discovered the joy of encouraging others. Leading wellness sessions allows me to share practical habits, create meaningful connections, and remind people that progress is possible one step at a time.

Today, I continue choosing consistency over perfection. I am still learning, growing, and caring for my health one day at a time. My journey is not finished—but I am grateful for how far I have come and hopeful about where God is leading me next.
